cu·rate [v. kyoo-reyt]
- to pull together, sift through, and select for presentation, as music or website content
Curating sources from the web to use in our classrooms is a challenge. What do we do when, as we are sifting through the junk, we find a jewel. What can we do to save our treasure for future use in our classrooms? Without a system in place, this can be tricky.
One system that I have found particularly useful relies on the seamless integration of three digital tools:
Google Chrome + Clearly WebApp + Evernote = Find + Clip/Save + Organize Resources
Using Google Chrome in concert with Clearly and Evernote, is an easy solution for teachers who want to create an organized, searchable library of classroom digital resources. By adding the Clearly WebApp to the Google Chrome browser, you can quickly collect clippings of web pages that are cleaned up to include the page’s main content, removing extraneous information like headers and advertisements.
